It Never Rains But It Pours

Seven years after the publication of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, and a good four or five years since he first described the general gist of its plot, Michael Chabon is finally about to publish another (adult) novel, The Yiddish Policemen's Union, due this May. To tide us over that last stretch of Chabon-less months, however, the New York Times is serializing another new novel by Chabon, Gentlemen of the Road.

And, in other highly-anticipated-book news, J.K. reports that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be published on July 21st. Time to make that Amazon order.

UPDATE: More good news: season 2 of Life on Mars begins on February 13th.

have you seen this list of deathly hallows predictions that was linked to from crooked timber just now?

It was fun, but it also made me realise how much I have forgotten about the whole series
I think I saw that list when it was first posted, Alison. It struck me, at the time, as a combination of the blisteringly obvious and the extremely unlikely, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I stopped reading Harry Potter after the 3rd book (they just got too long), but I love LIFE ON MARS and look forward to Season 2.

Oddly enough I just got my TV Licence Renewal Notice this morning.

The New Season of Life On Mars had better be Frakking Good.
